  2. 1/. In a kadai/sauce pan heat the oil, add the mustard seeds and when it starts to splutter, add the curry leaves and chopped onions and saute on medium heat until the onions turn light golden brown.
  3. 2/. Lower the heat and add the ginger-garlic paste and cook until the paste turns golden brown and starts sticking to the pan. At this point splash some water on to the pan so that the mixture does not burn.
  4. 3/. Now add the salt and the powders- red chili, coriander, turmeric. Stir fry for a second and add 1/2 cup of the cooked avarebele water or plain water and continue to cook on low flame until the gravy is reduced to a paste  and there are little oil bubbles on  top of it. (about 7 min).
  5. 4.  Drain the avarebele and add it to the paste and stir fry for a min. Next add the coconut milk and cook for 5 min on medium heat. Remove from heat and add the lemon juice after cooling the huli/curry for 5 min(optional).
  6. 5/. Serve hot with plain rice or coconut milk rice, or pulkas.
