  1. Soak the daal for atleast 30 minutes
  2. Heat a deep pot with water
  3. Add the daals boil till it is half boiled
  4. Now add the rice and boil
  5. In a pan add oil and temper cumin seed bay leaf and red chilli
  6. Add chopped coconut and fry well till it become golden brown
  7. Add all the masalas and ginger paste saute well adding salt and turmeric powder
  8. Add green chillies and desiccated coconut mix well
  9. Now add chopped tomatoes and mix
  10. Pour it into the pot and mix well
  11. Boil until everything get combined
  12. Add sugar and mix well
  13. Garnish with ghee and curry masala powder
  14. Serve it with fried veggies and chutney
