The only ingredients required for making idli dhokla are chickpea flour, semolina and curd as the main ingredient along with ginger, turmeric, sugar, salt, lemon, green coriander and fresh coconut which are always available in kitchen. We all relish eating spongy, very soft and sweet-sour dhokla prepared in very less oil. Khaman dhokla prepared in an idli maker is idli dhokla. Khaman is basically a steamed snack from the Gujarati cuisine, prepared using gram flour.

To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook dhokla idlis using 16 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Dhokla Idlis:
  1. Prepare 2 cups Gram Flour or Besan
  2. Get 1 tbsp Ginger grated
  3. Prepare 1 tsp Salt
  4. Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  5. Prepare 3-4 Green Chillies finely chopped
  6. Prepare 1 small bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped
  7. Prepare 2 tsp Eno
  8. Take 1/8 tsp Citric Acid
  9. Make ready 1 tbsp Oil
  10. Get FOR THE TEMPERING -
  11. Prepare 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
  12. Prepare 2 tbsp Oil
  13. Make ready 2 Sprigs Curry Leaves torn
  14. Take 1/2 cup Fresh Coconut grated
  15. Make ready 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  16. Get 3-4 Dry Red Chillies

Soft and spongy Dhokla Idlis topped with sweet and spicy tadka, So, I thought of using my instant dhokla recipe but steaming the dhoklas in an idli maker and to my surprise, the dhoklas came out so so good. Spread this tempering all over the idli dhokla with a spoon. Spongy and scrumptious Idli dhokla is ready to serve. Garnish these yummylicious idlis dhokla with chopped green coriander and grated coconut and serve them with coriander chutney, coconut chutney, tomato sauce or any other chutney you like and enjoy!

Instructions to make Dhokla Idlis:
  1. Make a smooth lumpfree batter with all the ingredients listed under the mixing of batter except Eno. The batter should be thick but not lumpy. Use water as required. Heat a vessel with water(1/4 th of it) Grease the Idli moulds.
  2. Add Eno to the batter and give a light mix. Don't mix too much. Just fold in lightly. Place the Idli stand in the vessel. They will be done in 10 minutes.
  3. After 10 minutes, just check them with a skewer and if done, switch off the flame and don't remove the lid. Wait for 10 minutes more and only then remove the lid. Temper these delish Dhokla Idlis and serve garnished with grated Coconut and any Chutney of your choice.

Spongy and scrumptious Idli dhokla is ready to serve. Garnish these yummylicious idlis dhokla with chopped green coriander and grated coconut and serve them with coriander chutney, coconut chutney, tomato sauce or any other chutney you like and enjoy! Suggestions Keep Idlis aside and let it cool down. Heat the oil in a non-stick kadhai(pan) and add the mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds crackle, add the sesame seeds, some red chili powder, and asafoetida and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
