  7. Take 1 tsp red chilli powder

Cut leftover steamed idlis (dal idli / rava idli) into two halves or also you can cut it in four pieces. Wash and cut all the vegetables (onion, cabbage, capsicum, tomato) into thin long slices and keep a side for later use.

Instructions to make Tomato masala idli:
  1. Cut the idli into small pieces.
  2. Cut the tomatoes and grind it into a paste.
  3. In a pan, add oil. Add mustard seeds and hing. Once the seeds splutter, add curry leaves.
  4. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and saute.
  5. Add tomato puree and let it get cooked properly.
  6. Once tomato puree get cooked, add idli and mix well. Coat the idli with masala.
  7. You can grate cheese on top if like. Sprinkle some coriander leaves. Enjoy it hot.
