- Take For lapsi
- Make ready 1/2 cup splited gehu Or daliya
- Prepare 1/4 cup ghee

- Prepare 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- Make ready leaves Coriander
- Take as required Oil
- Get For gujarati dal
- Take 1/2 cup dal
- Make ready 1 tomatoes
- Take pinch Asafoetida
- Get 1 tbsp Rai
- Take 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
- Take 1 tbsp jaggerry
- Get 1 tbsp Peanuts
- Take 1 tbsp kokum
- Make ready leaves Curry
- Get 2 Whole Kashmir red chilli
- Prepare as required Regular spices
To fulfill its objective this Gujarati Thali contains all the main dishes of Gujarati food. On Mondays we always make a full Gujju meal (DBSR). I obviously had to photograph the thali, because I have a thing for thalis!!! Whenever I go to India I have to go eat a Gujju thali at least once, it just gives me all the feels.
Instructions to make Gujarati thali:
- Take a pressure cooker add ghee heat it then add daliya
- Saute daliya till it becomes golden brown now add mixed dry fruits
- Take a pan boil the water
- Add this boiling water to daliyain cooker slowly, slowly now add sugar mix it well
- Pressure cook for 4 whistle
- Take out the lapsi garnish with dry fruits and ghee
- To make banana sabji
- Take a pan add oil not too much add rai, cumin seeds, whole coriander seeds, Kashmiri red chili, saunf, Asfoiteda
- Then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and add banana pieces stir fry only
- Then add coriander leaves several it hot
- For gujrati dal
- First soak dal for1/2 hrs then pressure cook for 3 whistle
- In dal add regular spices and jaggerry and peanuts
- Now take a pan add ghee then curry leaves, asfoiteda, Rai, cumin seeds, whole red chilli, saute them well
- Now add chopped tomatoes and salt
- Saute them well at last add dal and water, add water in slightly high amount boil the dal for at least 10 min
- Add coriander at last
I obviously had to photograph the thali, because I have a thing for thalis!!! Whenever I go to India I have to go eat a Gujju thali at least once, it just gives me all the feels. The Gujaratis are simple people and their day to day food is a simple lentil, with rice, a veggie with a chapati, some salad and buttermilk. I have made many Gujrati Thalis with different menus, but this Thali is special. This is a Thali which I cooked at our hotel with the help of my chef.
