  1. Get 500 gms Chicken with bone
  2. Prepare 1 tbsp Coconut oil
  3. Take 2 Onion
  4. Prepare 1 Tomato
  5. Make ready 5-6 Garlic cloves

  7. Prepare 1 tsp Jeera(cumin) seeds
  8. Get 1 tsp Coriander seeds

  12. Get 1 tbsp Tamarind
  13. Take 1/4 cup Fresh coconut
  14. Get 1 1/2 cup Coconut milk
  15. Get 1 tsp curry leaves
  16. Make ready to taste Salt
  17. Make ready 1 tsp Methi(fenugreek) seeds
  18. Get 1 inch cinnamon stick
  19. Get 2 tsp Coriander leaves finely chopped

It is rich with coconut paste and coconut milk and a balanced mix of spices and whole garam masala. The gravy makes a good combination with neer dosa,kori rotti,pundi and also rice.

Instructions to make Kori Gassi:
  1. Marinate the chicken with salt and turmeric and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Take a pan add dry chillis roast them well.. Add the remaining dry spices roast it well. Put in a blender.
  3. In the same pan dry roast the coconut. Remove it in the blender. Then add some oil and roast one onion and garlic. Put it in the blender with roasted dry spice and coconut,add tamarind pulp, some water and blend it well.
  4. Add the remaining coconut oil.. Add curry leaves followed by onions.. Let it cook. Now add the marinated chicken and let it cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Next goes in tomatoes..mix it well and cook till they are soft and mushy. Now add the blended masala give it a nice mix.. Cook it on medium flame for around 10 minutes.
  6. Add a 1.5 cup of thick coconut milk and stir it well and let it cook for 10 -12 minutes on medium flame.
  7. Garnish it with corinader leaves.
  8. Serve it with rice or Neer dosa.

It is rich with coconut paste and coconut milk and a balanced mix of spices and whole garam masala. The gravy makes a good combination with neer dosa,kori rotti,pundi and also rice.
